2018 Mercedes-Benz C300
Mileage117,672Service Date10/22/2026Services Performed- Vehicle jump started and attempt to charge the battery. Engine compartment inspected inspection and noticed missing drive belt, belt tensioner, securing bolt and belt idler pulley. Further inspection of belt driven components discovered defective off set alternator pulley projected 7mm forward of its mounting shaft which explains the cause of prior premature drive belt failure ( mentioned by the customer). Customer informed and recommended new alternator, and restore missing parts as indicated above. This correction and restoration of missing part is essential in order to start and run the engine for further examination of engine performance to ensure no engine internal damage due to overheating condition due to loss of drive belt.
- RESTORE DRIVE BELT TENSIONER, SECURING BOLT, IDLER PULLEY AND DRIVE BELT.
- Defective alternator removed and replaced. Main starter battery tested to be defective. Remove and replace defective battery, test charging system for performance. No further battery red warning light observed at this time.
- Vehicle road tested and noticed laud grinding noise from right front side of the vehicle. Further examination all wheels discovered defective front right wheel bearing & hub. Customer informed and upon approval removed and replaced the defective hub. Vehicle road tested to confirm successful repair of front right wheel.

Recommend water pump & thermostat assemblies replacement along with defective turbocharger coolant supply line change. Flush cooling system and pressure test again. Run engine and check cooling system for performance.

- WATER PUMP & ENGINE COOLANT THERMOSTAT Remove & Replace – Mechanical, Impeller including coolant thermostat.

Customer informed and performed remove and replace #4 fuel injector, install new spark plugs and air filter. Clear all fault codes and road test vehicle to run and complete emission monitors, verify and confirm successful repairs.
